It takes just a few minutes to swerve off the main road heading towards Ras Al Khaimah and be greeted by some beautiful desert vistas. Unlike what Geography might have taught you, most deserts are not bare naked and the deserts of UAE are no exception. All around you could see various trees, bushes and wild grasslike plants growing out from the sand. The desert was littered with tracks of what appeared to be birds, lizards and the occasional camel or donkey.
